We happened to be at a track meet near where Ann lives so I casually mentioned lets just go look at these donkeys...you know...just on the way home...(okay I think...good step one...just look at the donkeys) WELL, you pull into Ann's driveway and you are welcomed by I don't know how many...a lot of dogs...and when you step out of your car you realize you are being...not really watched...but noticed by donkeys...they are everywhere. We meet Ann who must have been in the middle of hundreds of chores...plus she was kind of pacing and pacing, well internally pacing like an expectant father...come to find out she was waiting on one of the donkeys who was to give birth any second...anyways, its hard to describe the scene but it is definitely one of the best places on earth, maybe even the 8th wonder.

Save Your Ass

Ann takes us on a tour, some of the donkeys are a bit shy and check you out from a distance...others waste no time making their way to your side, sneaking in for a little affection, blowing sweet donkey breath on your neck. You cannot help but be charmed. We also got a chance to check out Ann's own herd and learn more about "life on the farm"...really I think that was about as close to heaven as I have ever come...getting ready to leave, of course we said we would think about it and I was pretty sure it would be another 8 years...as we pulled out of the driveway my husband said "which ones do you want?" (I am thinking that he is thinking hypothetically here) "Gabe and Hector I said...you know the white ones"..."yeah...they were pretty cool" he said..."lets get them" WHAT you mean...WHAT OMG OMG OMG...I can't believe this is real...I am...well...just a little ecstatic...my life will never be the same and I think you know "the rest of the story"'
