Saturday July 9th, 2011 Meet and Greet at the new Tractor Supply store in Rindge, NH
Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue's traveling ambASSador, Justamere Melody supervises the Grand Opening of Tractor Supply Co.'s newest store in Rindge, NH.
Tractor Supply Co. graciously allowed SYA to set up our kissing booth which was a great success. With the sale of merchandise and Mel's gently applied kisses, SYA was able to raise $422.64 to support the rescue's mission to rescue, re-habilitate and re-home donkeys and mules in need. In addition, the folks at Tractor Supply Co. donated a very generous gift certificate - a much appreciated bonus!
Many people asked about adoption, care of donkeys and mules, or swapped stories of their much-loved long ears. A very successful weekend all the way around!

The proud raffle winner from the September 12th show!
The Save Your Ass Long Ear Rescue made it's second annual appearance at The Bolton Fair in Lancaster, MA, this past August. The Rescue was well represented by Terry Lupien's three girls, Tootsie, a mini mule, Jelly Bean, a pony mule, and Melody a spotted Mammoth jennet. We also had some fantastic volunteers in Haila, Ollie, Jen, Bette, Cliff and Kevin! We can't thank them enough. They sold a ton of Tshirts and caps and Terry's long ears helped spread the good word about the endearing qualities of donkeys and mules. Miss Toostie in particular, with those other-worldly eyes, attracted an enormous amount of attention and withstood it pretty well for a tiny mule with lots of 'tude!
Come visit us next year at the Fair! It's got lots of 4H exhibitors with their sheep, pigs, rabbits, cavies, chickens, turkeys and cattle, and some amusement rides and music as well.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for Strolling of the Heifers Weekend — June 4-5-6, 2010. If you missed it, mark your calendar now for the Tenth Anniversary Stroll, June 3-4-5, 2011!
