In the beginning of May 2005, I never thought of owning donkeys ever but my husband had. He calls me from work and tells me we're going to check out a couple of donkeys for sale. I fell in love with them and we ended up buying them, not knowing the first thing about donkeys and what to ask before purchasing. They didn't come home for a couple weeks so I was able to do some reading and research ahead of their arrival.

Well, Sam and Jake were about 10 yrs.old then and not at all people friendly. But I worked with them daily, researched donkeys on the web and asked lots of questions. They are a lot friendlier now.

Hooked up with YDMS and in time SYA. When Ann posted Quincy's baby picture in a group e-mail earlier this year (2008), I fell in love again. Inquired about visiting SYA in hopes of adopting Quincy but figured we didn't have a chance. Surely there was a long line of people wanting him. Visited Ann and SYA before Quincy (now called Patrick Quincy) was 2 weeks old. Ann is one of the nicest people we have ever met and her place in N.H. is awesome. We left N.H. ecstatic to be new parents.

After another visit a week later we decided to adopt Camilla, Patrick's Mom, also. Ann was very accommodating in working with us to get the two home to us at our convenience. And so far we are all living happily ever after.

Donkey people are some of the most down-to-earth, nicest people. Thank God for Ann and SYA, helping donkeys in need of homes hook up with people in need of donkey companionship. Donkeys rule!
